The same people that clean rooms and patients serve and often don't change gloves or wash their hands. The director is often out or "unavailable " I rarely see any therapy. I would not recommend this place to anyone who is actually Iill or injured and can't do for themselves. Visited my grandmother yesterday, and I was really amazed of the friendly and courteous environment.
Staff at all Harborview facilities pride themselves on going above and beyond to provide the very best care possible. There is no need to join us if you want to use the information for your personal use. There is no registration form or charges/ fees etc.Just fine the information and use it for better living. SKILLED NURSING
Patients don't get their night-meds until very late in the evening. I don't recommend this place at all. Our warm and caring staff at Optima Care Harborview believes the key to great care is focusing on the resident as a person and not a patient. We take on the responsibility to ensure your loved one receives the best possible care and comfort in our clean, safe and friendly facility that will truly make you feel at home.
I like the individual care that she's getting. One of her assistants is very good. For me and my family, I like it because of the location. She has only been there for three days, so we haven't checked that out. They have private dining rooms if you want to have a private dinner with family and bring your own stuff. There's a salon, a gym, a place to watch movies, a nice big dining room, and a private dining room .

Harbor view has a very nice structure . It's near the river so it has potential. There are 3 major problems at harbor view , the management , the staffing and the cleanliness. There isn't enough staff to serve the patients and managing heads and nurses don't care I've seen them all sitting while patient lights are glaring and ringing in mass.

The place needs a complete overhaul. & more to provide compassionate care for your loved ones. & more to meet the needs of your loved ones with the highest quality care. If a family member or friend has dementia, you know that caring for them can be mentally and physically challenging, and can also put strain on your family and friendships. She can't move or do anything. Everybody is giving different information about the room accommodations. No one is on the same page regarding the rules and regulations of the facility. The food is not very appetizing. She doesn't have a whole lot of food choices. She actually lost weight there because she is not eating the food.
The place seem to be in order and you saw more staff than usual. Then I overheard other residents talking and found out that state was paying them a visit. Should have known something because this place is unorganized and ghetto, and I wish the family would send her somewhere else. I give the State 5 stars for coming, but once they leave its back to a 0 star facility if you ask me. Please never bring your loved ones here.
Another good thing about the facility that I saw as a problem at other facilities was that the residents had nice quality beds and equipment in their rooms. My visit at a nursing home in another city was not as pleasant and didn't have the equipment safe for residents that live there. If you were in the same town and had to make the decision to let a relative move into a facility, I would recommend this one. If you aren't sure, you should visit the facility that your considering at least 3 times before making the decision. Our entire lives are made up of choices. Good ones, bad ones; choices we would never repeat, and those we would make over and over again.
It's extremely expensive out of pocket. We are proud of our knowledgeable therapy team, who provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy. We also do outpatient therapy and provide transportation on an as-needed basis, to and from appointments.
The staff eat better then the residents. We also use music or memory programs to help patients enjoy each day to its fullest. Our nursing department provides compassionate care and services to include medications, I.V. Therapy, labs, x-rays, mental wellness, in-house hospice, dental, vision, podiatry, and hearing services. Basically old oage homes or retirement home is a multi-residence housing facility intended for senior citizens. Typically each person or couple in the home has an apartment-style room.
